The history of the Sultanate of Oman goes back to the dawn of civilization. Entwined with ancient ruins, fortresses, palaces, beaches, wadis, deserts, caves, fjords, and fringed with the waters of the Sea of Makran, Oman is one of the most fascinating destinations in the world. A kaleidoscope of heritage, culture and scenic beauty. Although it has opened more and more to tourism in the past years, Oman remains off the beaten track, pristine and safe, a hidden gem to be discovered by the few in the know.

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

Day 1 : Muscat Port 

Embarkation after 14:00 at Muscat port. Welcome onboard the Elysium! Enjoy our signature cocktail during a smooth check-in and meet your fellow passengers prior to the customary safety drill. Spend the day exploring Muscat and the surrounding interesting regionwith one of the optional half day tours. Dinner onboard. Overnight at port.

Day 2 : Daymaniyat Islands - Shinas

Morning arrival at the beautiful Daymaniyat islands, considered the Maldives of the Middle East. A Nature Reserve, the islands are a sanctuary for birds and green turtles and offer one of the best snorkeling, as well as diving in the Middle East. Overnight at sea to Shinas.

Day 3 : Shinas - Kumzar 

Early morning arrival at Shinas, a coastal town in the Batinah region. Shinas Fort, one of the northernmost fortified structures in Oman, is a popular tourist destination. Optional half day tour to
visit the coastal town of Sohar, the ancient fort, the Sultan Al Qaboos Mosque and Liwa castle. Overnight at sea to Kumzar.

Day 4: Kumzar - Khasab 

Early morning arrival at the isolated village of Kumzar, only accessible by boat. Experience the unique local culture, and enjoy a swim and fish BBQ. After lunch, we sail through the impressive fjords to reach Khasab by afternoon time. Take a short tour to the Khasab fort, located in the heart of town. Al fresco dinner on board and afterwards relax with music and drinks on the Elysium Thalassa Deck. Overnight at port.

Day 5: Khasab - Fjords

Enjoy a full day in Khasab with an optional excursion sailing on a traditional Omani dhow inside the fjords. We will most certainly be joined by dolphins, before reaching the impressively barren Telegraph and Seebi islands for a swim-stop, fishing and some of the best snorkeling. Refreshments and lunch on the dhow, before returning to the Elysium. The Gemaya Spa awaits for a relaxing massage or a soothing facial after a full day at sea. Overnight at port.

Day 6: Khor Najd

Morning arrival at the im Khor Najd. Swim and snorkel in crystal clear water with the stunning rock formations providing the perfect backdrop. After lunch we set sail to Al Suwaiq. Overnight at sea.

Day 7: Al Suwaiq - Muscat

Morning arrival in Al Suwaiq, which means “market”. Take a full day optional tour inland including Rustaq, the ancient capital of Oman and the towns of Al Am, Al Awabi and Nakhal to see forts, palaces, impressive rock formations with ancient writings, wadis and more. We set sail to Muscat where you will enjoy a traditional Omani evening onboard. Overnight at port.

Day 8: Muscat

Disembarkation at Muscat Port between 09.00-10:00, after breakfast. Discover the beauty of Muscat with an optional tour which will also take you to Jabreen castle, an ancient center for learning astrology and medicine, the Tanuf ancient ruins, Bahla, home to the oldest fortress in Oman and around the main attraction of Muscat.
