Sample itinerary: 4 day tour: Cappadocia - Kahramanmaras - Adiyaman - Urfa - Gaziantep - Istanbul
Turkey’s cultural heritage including Cappadocia, Mount Nemrut, Gobeklitepe, Zeugma Mosaic Museum and Istanbul.
Day 1: Cappadocia - Mount Nemrut
Starting from Cappadocia (you may stay in Cappadocia a few nights before the tour starts, on request), you will be taken to the Tekir plateau, Karatay Caravansaray and Kahramanmaras where you can eat Turkey's best ice cream. Then, you will arrive at Mount Nemrut, crowning one of the highest peaks of the Eastern Taurus mountain range in south-east Turkey, Nemrut Dag is the Hierotheseion (temple-tomb and house of the gods) built by the late Hellenistic King Antiochos I of Commagene (69-34 B.C.) as a monument to himself. We will watch the sunrise over the plateau.
Stay overnight in Adiyaman.
Day 2: Sanliurfa - Gobekli Tepe The World’s First Temple
After breakfast, you will visit Gobeklite in urfa which predates Stonehenge by some 6,000 years. Six miles from Urfa, an ancient city in southeastern Turkey, Klaus Schmidt has made one of the most startling archaeological discoveries of our time: massive carved stones about 11,000 years old, crafted and arranged by prehistoric people who had not yet developed metal tools or even pottery.
Stay overnight in Urfa.
Day 3: Gaziantep
After breakfast, you will visit Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep. Then, will be transfered to Gaziantep airport to fly to Istanbul and stay overnight there.
Day 4: Istanbul
Your tour ends after breakfast.
