Itinerary

Day 1: UK to Ljubljana

Fly to Ljubljana, where you’ll be met by our representative for your private transfer to the hotel for your first overnight stay.

Day 2–3: Explore Ljubljana

Spend your days discovering the charm of Slovenia’s capital. Explore independently or pre-book optional sightseeing tours.
Stroll along the lively riverside, wander through the old town, visit Ljubljana Castle, and enjoy the relaxed café culture that defines this elegant city.

Day 4: Ljubljana to Lake Bled

Check out and enjoy a private transfer to the Alpine wonderland of Lake Bled.
Settle into your hotel and take in your first views of the famous island church, shimmering lake, and surrounding Julian Alps. Day 5: Lake Bled – Alpine Scenery & Outdoor Activities Spend the day at leisure. Choose from hiking, cycling, swimming, canoeing, or simply relaxing by the lakeside.
For a classic experience, take a traditional pletna boat to Bled Island or enjoy spectacular panoramas from Bled Castle.

Day 6: Lake Bohinj or Vintgar Gorge (Optional)

Make the most of your time in nature.
Optional trips include:

A visit to Lake Bohinj, a wilder and more peaceful Alpine lake
A walk through Vintgar Gorge, with wooden walkways suspended above turquoise waters

Day 7: Lake Bled to Piran – With Stop at Postojna Cave

Depart Lake Bled and travel south toward the coast.
En route, visit the world-famous Postojna Cave, one of Europe’s largest and most spectacular cave systems, featuring miles of breathtaking tunnels and rock formations.
Continue to your hotel in Piran or Portorož, where you’ll settle in for a relaxing coastal stay.

Day 8–10: Piran & the Slovenian Coast

Enjoy three full days on Slovenia’s stunning Adriatic coast.
Explore Venetian-style squares, winding alleys, and the iconic St. George’s Cathedral in Piran.
Learn about the region’s historic salt pans, enjoy seaside dining, or simply unwind and take in the Mediterranean atmosphere. Optional day trips include Portorož, Izola, or even crossing into nearby Trieste.

Day 11: Homeward Bound

Your unforgettable holiday comes to an end. A private transfer will take you from your hotel to the airport for your flight home.

Grand Hotel Union - 4 Bed & Breakfast*

One of Ljubljana’s most historic buildings, this grand hotel offers a good standard of accommodation in a convenient location. The Grand Hotel Union first opened in 1905, when it was known as one of the best hotels in Europe, and still retains its popularity today. It now consists of two hotels - the Grand Hotel Union in the original Secession building and the Grand Hotel Union Business in a newer building which is joined to it.

Hotel Piran - 4 Bed & Breakfast*

This charming hotel is set in a beautiful location right on the seafront in the heart of the enchanting old town of Piran.

The Hotel Piran is in a beautiful location. It overlooks the clear waters of the Adriatic, right on the seafront promenade, with terraces and a jetty for easy access into the sea. To one side are the rolling hills and to the other the terracotta roofs of Piran’s grand houses.

Hotel Park - 4 Bed & Breakfast*

This luxury hotel is the only one to offer step-free access to the Lake, so is ideal for anyone with difficulty in walking. The Hotel Park’s setting on the lake is idyllic, allowing guests to make the most of the area’s natural beauty. It enjoys magnificent panoramic lake views through the trees.

Piran and Portoroz

Piran is the jewel of Slovenia’s Adriatic coast - a beautiful Italianate town on a lovely peninsula. Just a short drive down the coast, is the larger resort of Portoroz, the ‘city of flowers’, which became a favourite of the Habsburg aristocracy.

Postojna Cave

Portoroz

Just a short drive down the coast, is the larger resort of Portoroz, the ‘city of flowers’, which became a favourite of the Habsburg aristocracy, who built the grand Kempinski Palace here in 1910. They came for the therapeutic spa treatments which still attract visitors today. Its palm-lined promenade runs the length of the resort, with its man-made sandy beach. "A week's trip on Perla del Mar captained by Mustafa, with chef Dohan, and crew Cem, Emre and Meric turned out to be the best family holiday we had ever booked. Akin's recommendation of the boat was spot on. Dohan's menu and cooking was absolutely excellent. The crew went out of their way to assist us at every opportunity and their care and attention to the children on the trip was exemplary. There wasn't a single fault that on the whole trip, the transfers worked perfectly, the crew were there to greet us at Marmaris and led us through the alleys to the waterside where the amazing boat in front of us was to be ours for a week. We were all taken aback and realised that Mum's mad dream was coming to fruition. A holiday found by google, sold to us by Akin who took the trouble to explain everything turned out to be beyond the dreams of all of us. Canoeing in quiet coves, swimming and snorkelling to our hearts content then served with drinks and snacks before amazing meals and enjoying the trips between coves became the order of each day. " We went to Diamond Star experience because they offer multi-centre holidays and had good ratings. We were in no way disappointed with what was organised. We said that we wanted a few days in Athens and then a week on a relatively quiet island. Akin made a proposal (Athens then Naxos) and then, when we agreed, organised everything. The Athens hotel was central and accessible to the main sites and to restaurants, and was of very good quality. The choice of Naxos for the island was equally good and we stayed in an excellent three star hotel on the edge of the town within easy reach of the beach and restaurants. All transfers were efficiently organised and even when there was a transport hiccup (our fault!) there was a phone call from the Athens back-up team within the hour to find out what had happened.
