BODRUM TO GÖCEK GULET CRUISE

DAY 1

Your exceptional Bodrum to Gocek gulet cruise starts here.  Board your yacht in the afternoon, take time to sit back and relax with a cool drink before setting off to explore the cosmopolitian resort town of Bodrum. Visit the magnificent Crusader castle built by the Knights of St. John and walk through a room full of treasures uncovered during underwater excavations of ancient shipwrecks.

DAY 2

Following an early morning crossing of the Gokova Gulf, sail around Cape Krio and enter the harbour of ancient Knidos. Swim in crystal clear waters and snorkel over a sunken breakwater before venturing ashore to make your way through this impressive site. Knidos was an important port on the coastal trading route and enjoyed great prosperity during the 4th Century BC. The city had two harbours, two theatres and was home to Praxiteles's nude statue of Aphrodite – and the base of Aphrodite's temple can be seen today. Your captain will seek out the sheltered harbor of Kalaboshi for tonight's stop.

DAY 3

Datca is a popular stopover for yachtsmen, where white-washed buildings hung with bougainvillea decorate the town. Around the marina you will find bars, cafes and a wide selection of shops. The local eateries offer both fresh fish and classical Turkish cuisine. As you cruise out of Datca, you will find unspoiled bays and golden sandy beaches.

DAY 4

Sail across the Hisaronu Gulf, stopping for lunch and water sports in a pretty bay near Bozburun or Sogut. Bozburun is surrounded by low, rocky hills and has a definite charm. The afternoon's sail will take you around the tip of the Loryma Peninsula and into Bozukkale. In Hellenistic times, Bozukkale was known Loryma and the city was a deme of the Rhodian Peraea. Your captain will anchor beneath the well-preserved walls of the ancient citadel and from here, it will be possible to swim ashore or tender ashore to visit the ruins. The citadel provides an excellent vantage point from which to view the coastline and watch a fabulous Mediterranean sunset. Overnight in Bozukkale.

DAY 5

Following a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a swim, board a small riverboat for a tour to ancient Caunos and the small town of Dalyan. The trip will take you south-east along a craggy, indented coastline and in through the mouth of the Dalyan river, where you should keep an eye out for the rare Loggerhead Turtle. Once past the sandy spit known as Iztuzu Beach (a nesting ground for the turtles), it is an exciting ride through the reed-lined channels of the delta to the ruins of ancient Caunos, set out around a hill topped with an acropolis. The climb to the acropolis is an exhilarating ascent and rewards the climber with an amazing view of the surrounding area. While exploring the ruins of Caunos, you will come across a theatre, an early Byzantine church, Roman baths and closer to the ancient harbour, the remains of an Agora and temples.

DAY 6

Departure for Agalimani, Tersane Islands, stopping along the way for lunch and the opportunity to swim and snorkel in clear blue waters. At Tersane Islands can be visit Byzantine ruins of a shipyard. Dinner and overnight at Tersane Island.

DAY 7-8

"A week's trip on Perla del Mar captained by Mustafa, with chef Dohan, and crew Cem, Emre and Meric turned out to be the best family holiday we had ever booked. Akin's recommendation of the boat was spot on. Dohan's menu and cooking was absolutely excellent. The crew went out of their way to assist us at every opportunity and their care and attention to the children on the trip was exemplary. There wasn't a single fault that on the whole trip, the transfers worked perfectly, the crew were there to greet us at Marmaris and led us through the alleys to the waterside where the amazing boat in front of us was to be ours for a week. We were all taken aback and realised that Mum's mad dream was coming to fruition. A holiday found by google, sold to us by Akin who took the trouble to explain everything turned out to be beyond the dreams of all of us. Canoeing in quiet coves, swimming and snorkelling to our hearts content then served with drinks and snacks before amazing meals and enjoying the trips between coves became the order of each day. I can firmly recommend this holiday to anyone. It was simply amazing." Christine - 25 May 2025

" We went to Diamond Star experience because they offer multi-centre holidays and had good ratings. We were in no way disappointed with what was organised. We said that we wanted a few days in Athens and then a week on a relatively quiet island. Akin made a proposal (Athens then Naxos) and then, when we agreed, organised everything. The Athens hotel was central and accessible to the main sites and to restaurants, and was of very good quality. The choice of Naxos for the island was equally good and we stayed in an excellent three star hotel on the edge of the town within easy reach of the beach and restaurants. All transfers were efficiently organised and even when there was a transport hiccup (our fault!) there was a phone call from the Athens back-up team within the hour to find out what had happened.
Thank you very much, Akin and staff, for a really enjoyable holiday and for service which can be easily be recommended.
