Discover Tahiti and the Pearls of French Polynesia

Embark on an unforgettable journey, sailing round-trip from the enchanting Papeete port in Tahiti, to explore the renowned Society Islands of French Polynesia aboard a small ship. Be prepared to be captivated by the pristine beauty of Bora Bora, Taha'a, Moorea, Huahine, and Raiatea – islands characterized by their majestic, moss-green peaks and picturesque turquoise lagoons. Island hopping is the key to witnessing the diverse landscapes, from the dramatic ridges adorned with cascading waterfalls on the high islands to the expansive, desert-like atolls where the lagoons far surpass the landmass. The Islands of Tahiti offer a myriad of experiences, all united by the incredible life force and spirit known as "Mana." Mana is not just a concept; it's something you can see, touch, taste, and feel.

Highlights of your journey include:

  • Bora Bora: Known as the "Pearl of the Pacific," Bora Bora is a paradise of pristine beaches and overwater bungalows, perfect for a romantic getaway.

  • Moorea: This island's lush landscapes, rugged mountains, and vibrant marine life make it a haven for nature enthusiasts.

  • Huahine: Immerse yourself in Huahine's rich Polynesian culture and history, exploring archaeological sites and picturesque landscapes.

  • Taha'a: Often referred to as the "Vanilla Island," Taha'a is famous for its fragrant vanilla plantations and stunning coral gardens.

  • Raiatea: Discover the cultural heart of French Polynesia on Raiatea, where ancient temples and lush forests await your exploration.

Join us on this extraordinary voyage through Tahiti and the Pearls of French Polynesia to experience the magic of these captivating islands. Your dream adventure awaits!

DAY 1 - PAPEETE, TAHITI

Embark the Panorama II in Papeete Port between 2pm and 3pm. After a welcome briefing and safety drill, we will set sail for Moorea. Late evening arrival and overnight at anchor.

DAY 2 – MOOREA

This morning we are in Moorea, which is believed to be the inspiration for the mythical Bali Hai from James Michener's Tales of the South Pacific. Eight gargantuan mountain peaks rise from its magnificent lagoon, creating a distinctive silhouette visible from the western coast of Tahiti. Morning and afternoon optional half day excursions; a/ Dolphin watching expedition by Dr Poole’s biologist team b/ Culture Eco Tour. Late evening departure to Huahine.

 DAY 3 – HUAHINE

Huahine, once home to Tahitian royalty, is considered the cradle of Polynesian culture. The two islands maintain the largest concentration of ancient marae (temples) in French Polynesia, some of which are believed to date back to around 700 AD. Huahine is a colossal tropical jungle burgeoning with coconut plantations, vanilla orchids, banana groves, breadfruit trees and watermelon fields. Our optional half-day tour takes us around the island to visit the small villages of Maeva, an archaeological site, and a vanilla plantation. There will also be an opportunity to see and feed the sacred blue-eyed eels of Faie Bay. Late night departure to Bora Bora. Overnight at sea. DAY 5 – TAHA’A

Early morning arrival in Taha'a, which shares a magnificent lagoon with Raiatea Island. The fertile island is covered with banana, watermelon and coconut groves. The island also acts as a vast natural greenhouse for the treasured Tahitian vanilla orchid. Our optional morning excursion will allow us to explore the beautiful interior of the island by 4x4 vehicle, through the island of Taha’a to visit a pearl farm, a vanilla plantation and a rum factory. Discover the black pearl and the vanilla culture, two precious treasures of Taha’a. In the afternoon, we will have plenty of time for swimming and snorkeling from a “motu”, or reef islet. Overnight in port.

"I wanted to send you an e-mail now that we are back from our wonderful holiday. My wife and I wanted to express our sincere gratitude to you and the team at Diamond Star for arranging a truly unique style of holiday that we are still talking about to friends and family two weeks after we came home. The places we have visited, and the things we have seen were truly amazing, it will take a month or more to sort through our photos"  Andrew and June Welch - 24 Oct 2022

"Back from our holiday to Istanbul/Cappadocia what an awesome holiday. The hot air balloon was out of this world. Thank you Diamond Star for making it all possible special thanks to Nazan. I recommend this company to make your dreams come true."  Mrs Angela Bailey - 6 Oct 2022

"We arrived home from Fethiye on Monday, and would just like to thank you and Akin for planning an amazing trip. The gulet was fantastic and as usual, the Ece Saray Hotel was lovely. The staff there are some of the best we have come across, and the breakfasts were great. We are looking ahead to 2023 and were wondering if you could arrange a quote for a similar trip."  Sue and Mike Fedeczko - 28 September 2022
