Tahiti Small Ship Cruise Itinerary

7 nights / 8 days – departures year round aboard the M/S Panorama II

Day 1 – Papeete, Tahiti

Embark the M/S Panorama II at the port of Papeete between 2 pm and 3 pm. After a welcome briefing and safety drill, we set sail for Moorea. Late-evening arrival and overnight at anchor.

Day 2 – Moorea

Arrive in Moorea this morning, believed to be the inspiration for the mythical Bali Hai. Eight soaring peaks rise from its lagoon, creating a dramatic silhouette visible from Tahiti. Optional morning and afternoon excursions include a dolphin-watching expedition with Dr Poole’s biologist team or a culture and eco tour. Late-evening departure for Huahine.

Day 3 – Huahine

Once home to Tahitian royalty, Huahine is regarded as the cradle of Polynesian culture. It has the largest concentration of ancient marae in French Polynesia, some dating back to 700 AD. Our optional half-day tour explores Maeva village, archaeological sites, a vanilla plantation and the legendary blue-eyed eels of Faie Bay. Late-night departure for Bora Bora. Overnight at sea.

Day 4 – Bora Bora

Arrive early in Bora Bora, one of the most photographed islands in the world. Sail into its breathtaking lagoon with Mount Otemanu rising at the centre. Optional experiences include a 4x4 cultural safari, a lagoon excursion to snorkel with rays and sharks, and a guided tour by “Le Truck”. Late-night departure for Taha’a. Overnight at sea.

Day 5 – Taha’a

Arrive early in Taha’a, which shares a stunning lagoon with nearby Raiatea. The fertile landscape is dotted with fruit plantations and is a natural greenhouse for Tahitian vanilla. Our optional morning 4x4 tour visits a pearl farm, a vanilla plantation and a rum distillery. In the afternoon, enjoy swimming and snorkelling from a peaceful motu. Overnight in port.

Day 6 – Raiatea

Sail across the lagoon to reach Raiatea, meaning “faraway heaven”. Known as the ancestral homeland of Polynesians, it is steeped in spiritual heritage. Optional visits include Marae Taputapuatea or an excursion to Anapa Pearl Farm. This evening, enjoy our farewell dinner. Overnight in port.

Day 7 – Raiatea to Papeete

Spend the morning discovering Raiatea’s local market or join the optional Faaroa River and Motu Beach Break excursion. After lunch, we sail back to Papeete. Overnight at sea.

Day 8 – Papeete, Tahiti

Arrive in Papeete this morning. Disembarkation at 9 am after breakfast.
