A trip to places with unique nature. Cruise down the Turkish Amazon - River Dalyan on taxi boats.
Dalyan is one of the most scenically stunning place in the whole of Turkey, with lush orange groves, orchards of pomegranates, fragrant pine trees and an array of flora and fauna that make it the perfect habitat for several species of bird. Twitchers come from far and wide to the Dalyan Delta in the hope that they might spot some of the more uncommon varieties. The river delta of Dalyan is home to many species of plant and wildlife and this is the last remaining home of the Mediterranean Turtle, an endangered species. A haven for nature-lovers. Altogether there are some 38,500 hectares of rotected conservation land in Dalyan, representing 10% of the total conservation area in Turkey. This includes the seven kilometre long sandbar known as Iztuzu Beach, the nesting ground for the endangered loggerhead turtle. Dalyan provides a unique natural environment with its mixture of fresh and saltwater wetlands, home to a wealth of water and bird wildlife, including species such as the sparrow hawk, crane, kingfisher and jay. The stork is also native to the area and migrates here in April where it rests until the end of August.
