Set right on Essaouira's stunning beachfront, this is the perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries. Recommended for couples and families alike. The Atlas Hotel enjoys one of the best settings in Essaouira right on the beachfront, with wonderful views of the seafront and the historic medina. Far removed from the hippy vibe more commonly associated with this resort, a stay here allows you to experience Essaouira in real style. The rooms here are spacious and decorated and furnished to a high standard of contemporary chic.
Swept by the trade winds, which ensure a cooling breeze throughout the year, the beach is mostly used by surfers, wind-surfers and kite-surfers, so the Atlas Hotel's seafront swimming pool is a real boon. It is the perfect place to soak up the sun and while away your days simply relaxing.
Le Seven beach restaurant is the ideal place to savour Essaouira's speciality of locally-caught fresh fish. You also have a choice of eating at Les Alizes restaurant, with its stunning sea-views, serving international cuisine, or the a la carte Le Safran, which serves traditional Moroccan fare.
A choice of bars means that you will have plenty of options should you decide to stay in the hotel. Alternatively, the narrow streets of the medina are just a short walk away, if you prefer to explore the charms of old Essaouira. Children will love visiting the fortress with its impressive cannons.
Those looking for complete relaxation should pay a visit to the hotel's Daniel Jouvance spa, with its Oriental hammams and massage rooms. It offers a range of health and beauty treatments including traditional Moroccan specialities.
Overall this property is suitable for those with mobility restrictions.

Essaouira is a charming walled town, its port dominated by a fairytale fortress, its narrow streets, with their brightly painted buildings, home to artists and craftsmen. There are some great restaurants – and seafood is a particular speciality. The narrow streets of the medina and the souk are a great place to wander and browse at leisure for unusual souvenirs.
In the 1950s and ‘60s Essaouira began to attract bohemians, artists and musicians who were drawn to its laid-back atmosphere and alternative culture. Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley were frequent visitors. Their legacy is the Gnaoua World Music Festival which takes place in late June and attracts artists and guests from all over the world.
Essaouira also attracts a more sporty crowd, drawn by its international reputation for excellent conditions for wind-surfing, surfing and kite-surfing. These same trade winds mean that the beach is really too blustery for relaxed sunbathing.
